(57) Pride

, ,

Dear You,

Today they asked me to find something I felt prideful about but youth taught that pride is a ball that doesn’t bounce when tethered to chains of self-importance.

Silence was offered in response and the question led me to remember what it feels like to play. Questions that reveal improbable answers are like views from swings when legs work with and against gravity to find exhilaration on either side.

May you find a sense of victory in every step taken such that pride is never valued more than the exciting stillness of movement.

Love,
Me
