Dear You,

Today I dreamed there was an earthquake and watched as the ocean swelled and rushed it’s way toward us. I stood still with a smile unafraid, aware of the screams behind me. My lips barely moved while softly repeating, “I love you, I love you, I love…”, until eventually the force of the water lifted us from the foundation, turned us upside down and quieted our voices forever. Upon waking I looked outside to find the sun shining brighter than ever before. May you always recognize the temporary nature of swells, hear the love that speaks to you even if ever so faintly and without fear expect the light to shine on you forever.
